Urban Furniture Design

Rainbeau 2024 Edition

A bench that responds to the need to act in favor of adaptation to climate change:
it captures and redistributes rainwater

After four years of R&D study, the irrigation concept developed by Rainbeau is ready to be shaped.
The design of the OPSA is entrusted to Alexis Tricoire.
In his creative gesture, the designer imagines a pocket of water, a rounded object that seems to float on the ground, like an island. In the center, a large planter… a bench large enough to have a significant impact (shade and seating) and easy to install for integration into urban spaces. The suspension can light a table for 12 people.

The OPSA measures 2m by 3m, offers seating for 8 to 10 people,
remains light and easily transportable to be installed without constraints according to the configuration of each place.

furniture made of composite material, resistant to shocks, UV rays, temperature differences, repairable
- plants up to 2.5 m high, choice of species according to needs (decorate, shade, cool, etc.)
Our objective: facilitate urban greening to reduce temperatures

The furniture fills up during rainy periods, either by direct capture thanks to an autonomous filling system.
The tank under the seat can hold up to 1000l of water, which limits watering rounds and connections for drip irrigation.
This water can then be used to irrigate plants in planters by capillarity

The OPSA is available in many standard and custom colors
in order to integrate with the specific identity of each environment or project.

Some examples of color variations of the prototype made in “Sand” color: Celadon Green, Terracotta, Pearl Gray.
